DAEMONIUM is a story within a story, exploring the concept and teaching of free will based off of the theology of the Catholic church. The plot is inspired by the Canterbury Tales and how, historical, the lives of holy people played out in the dark ages. The narrative framing the second story is a conversation between an unknown deity and a child during a game of chess, meant to reflect how humans communicate with God in the ups and downs in their life.
All 3D assets were created and rendered in Maya. Smoke simulation was created in Blender. 2D illustrations and animations were made using Krita. Sound editing in Adobe Audition. Video editing in Adobe Premiere. Music by Natalie Schaefer. Voice work by Ava Gleason and Anna Gleason.
Purdue Virtual Labs
CONCEPT and storyboard lead
One of the biggest challenges to college education brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic was the inability to teach future engineers in on-campus labs. Frustrated with the situation, the professors at Purdue turned to the Polytechnic Institute to utilize their students in game development and animation in order to create a virtual lab experience that could function similar to a 3D video game. As an Animation major myself, my part in this project was developing storyboards for programmers to follow, create concept art for the environment, and produce a logo and keybindings for the students UX design and integration.
